Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide content strategy and writing support for UHC.com to support a customer-centric point of view and drive business goals
  • Providing strategic insight to guide content strategy best practice for digital channels
  • Leading brand tone and voice across relevant digital channels
  • Develop digital content and creative that drive the user experience
  • Create content that will tell our brand story in a compelling and concise manner
  • Create content that follows accessibility guidelines and SEO best practice
  • Collaborate with other digital team members and resources to ensure a consistent user experience

Demonstrated Skills:  

  • Expertise in digital writing, primarily static web content (must provide examples)
  • Understanding of SEO best practices and experience writing with keywords and developing meta-data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that are concise, candid and professional
  • Solid strategic and critical thinking with ability to challenge status quo with new ideas
  • Ability to develop tactical plans and compelling marketing messages for a member/consumer audience
  • Ability to set clear direction and lead with confidence, conviction and presence
  • Proven project management skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables and aggressive timelines
  • Proactive self-starter; with sense of urgency to achieve results
  • Quick study, flexible and able to handle a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Ability to work independently; results driven; able to be flexible and work with ambiguity

Required Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 5+ years in copywriting and digital content development for product/service marketing, sales support and/or customer communication
  • 5+ years of advertising/marketing in corporate or agency environment
  • Experience supporting multichannel digital campaigns
  • Able to provide portfolio during interview
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field Marketing, Journalism or Mass Communication
  • Experience working with clients/organizations in the health care or insurance sectors
