Pinterest is a company like no other. And this is a time like no other. We’ve spent the last decade building one of the world’s most beloved products. Now it’s time for us to build one of the world’s most beloved brands. We’ve earned the right to tell bigger stories than ever before. That’s where you come in.
You’ll be the writer behind our most exciting business marketing campaigns to date. You’re right for this role because you have tons of experience crafting compelling, urgent copy that changes people’s minds. You’re just as skilled at writing buzzworthy Tweets and emails as you are at drafting long-form trend reports. You’re obsessed with identifying and analyzing trends that will change advertiser behavior. And you can’t wait to work with our creative and marketing partners to develop and write campaigns that bring new, inspiring advertisers to Pinterest.
This role is about using the power of words to shift advertisers’ perceptions of Pinterest. You’ll help them change their minds about our platform, from a “nice to have” to a “must buy.” You’ll tell our story at scale: transforming our most powerful insights into quippy social captions, catchy subheads and mic-drop worthy headlines. There is so much room to grow in this role as we build out a world-class business writing team all over the world to meet our expanding advertiser business.
What You’ll Do
- Write, edit, repeat. From short form content like social captions and buzzy emails to longer trend narratives that engage your audience, you’ll be the pen behind the Pin.
- Concept our next big B2B brand campaign, and bring it to life on set.
- Write and develop our annual trend report based on first party platform data of emerging trends.
- Develop video scripts, pitch campaign ideas and write snappy copy for emails and social media announcements.
- Partner with our social team to understand what’s performing. Build your future copy from there.
- Collaborate, collaborate, collaborate. Meet regularly with cross-functional teams at Pinterest—from our in-house research team to our world-class events team.
- Find the most urgent, compelling insights that will change advertiser perception and behavior.
- Become obsessed with the Pinterest advertiser audience—how they think and what will change their minds. Study them so that you can write for them. Do the hard work so they don’t have to.
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of relevant, B2B/ads platform marketing, including video, social, longform, etc.
- You’ve got a serious passion for writing killer headlines and short, pithy copy.
- You’re great at short form copy that gets people energized in a few, mighty words.
- You’ve worked in high-paced, iterative creative environments before. You have experience writing 100+ lines in a couple days, gleaning feedback and creating a fresh batch for review in a week’s time.
- You’re obsessed with analytics. You understand how to write successful A/B copy and can quickly pivot based on performance wins and learns.
- You’re able to pick up a brand’s voice and stay committed to learning and understanding the way the tone and voice are expressed across the brand. You don’t shy away from asking questions, learning new things and sharing your ideas.
- You have a passion for the advertiser audience and unique ability to take complex, advertiser-focused topics or products and make them human and interesting. You take the “boring” out of B2B.
- You have a pulse on current culture and social media trends. Perhaps you have experience community managing for a major brand. Either way, you get a kick out of writing the most culturally relevant copy and can write timely social copy on a whim.
- You’re confident under pressure. Your work—and your words—will be literally put in front of hundreds of millions of people. You take that opportunity (and responsibility!) seriously.
